Heroine addiction

From my experience heroine addiction is a very difficult to overcome. It is one of the most addicting drugs in the world and comes from the opiate family which has been around for centuries in fact since 3400 BC.

A little more history of the  heroine drug Diacetylmorphine or as most people know it heroine was first invented in 1874 by a fellow named Wright while he was experimenting with morphine. Now Wrights experiment basically ended there and there were no further developments for more than 20 years when it was reworked by Felix Hoffman a German chemist who was working for a company known as Bayer pharmaceutical. The drug diacetylmorphine or heroin soon became very popular.

Wright’s invention did not lead to any further developments, and diacetylmorphine only became popular after it was independently re-synthesized 23 years later by another chemist, Felix Hoffmann. Hoffmann was intending to make codeine but instead this was the creation of heroine which was said at the time to be 1½ times more potent than the most popular pain killer of the day morphine. At this time they did not realize the potential for heroine addiction this new drug would create.

The drug diacetylmorphine was marketed under the trade name Heroin by Bayer from 1898 through to 1910 as a non-addictive substitute for morphine and cough medication. Bayer claimed it was a miracle cure for morphine addiction. Man did they ever get that one wrong. Heroin is one of the most debilitating addictions or diseases however you prefer to look at it. It is one nasty drug to try to come off of and the heroine withdrawal is no joke either.

OK then enough with the history lesson. If you or someone you know think that you may have a problem with heroine addiction my advice to you is to get help as soon as possible. If you do not know anyone to ask who has ever stopped using heroin successfully you can find heroine addiction help the same way you found this post. There are many good heroin addiction rehabs out there just waiting for you to give them a call. Do not delay get on this as soon as you finish reading this post.

If you go to heroin rehab you will have a medical heroine detox for your addiction to heroine by people who have been specifically trained for this. They will do there very best to make you as comfortable as they can. They will also administer prescription medications to ease the pain of heroine withdrawal. This procedure normally takes less than one week.

It has also been my experience that those who continue their recovery in residential treatment drastically improve their chances of obtaining any long lasting sobriety.

Good luck
