If you or another person that you know that you think could possibly be an alcoholic you will have to keep in mind that at some point the person in question will have to go through alcohol detox. This is not to be taken lightly in fact, it can be deadly so one must think ahead a little when planning this event. Alcohol withdrawals can cause seizures and even death sometimes if the individual has been drinking for a long period a person must take extreme care when planning to undertake an alcohol detox.

Anyone who is indeed an alcoholic will at least go through some of these alcohol withdrawal symptoms when they suddenly stop drinking alcohol. I think the goal is to actually minimize the withdrawal from alcohol this can be done in a treatment setting and for my money is probably the best way how to help an alcoholic who has the desire to quit drinking. They can go to drug rehab – alcohol treatment center where they can be supervised for there alcohol detox. If you try to quit at home you could be placing your life in jeopardy.

Like I mentioned previously the reason for this is if an alcoholic suddenly stops drinking alcohol who has been drinking lets say for years they are more the likely going to experience the Dt’s and may have a seizure during alcoholism detox. A person should be aware that alcohol withdrawal is more dangerous than heroin withdrawal because alcohol withdrawal can actually kill you where withdrawing from heroin will not. I would strongly recommend that if this sounds like you or someone you know that you should seek help immediately. A person who is sick and tired of being sick and tired can actually overcome alcoholism in a drug and alcohol rehab. If the person is suffering any of these symptoms you can also take them to the ER. They are experienced in helping with these symptoms too.

Good luck
