Hydrocodone treatment

by admin on October 8, 2009

I think a lot of people justify their use of drugs that contain hydrocodone they say things like well they are legal I get them from my Dr. Here’s the thing though a lot of these same people see 2 or 3 different sometimes more than that. My question is how they can justify this because it is opiate abuse to say the least. I do know sometimes people get hooked on hydrocodone because they were taking it for pain. I also think some where along the line they started taking more than what was prescribed for them this then turned into a hydrocodone addiction.

In some cases I would say that these drugs were not needed to begin with, Motrin or Tylenol would have relieved their pain but their Dr. prescribed vicodin instead. This brings me to another thing I am going to tell you about today and this is that evidence has been shown that Dr’s are over prescribing medications like vicodin and lortab. When this happens more unknowing people will become addicted to opiate drugs.

Here is how to stop using hydrocodone in your own home. Simply start by tapering your self off what ever drug you happen to be using. This can be done by taking 1/2 of a pill less each day or even try taking one less pill a day. If you do it in this manner it should help stop any unwanted opiate withdrawal.

If this does not work for you I would suggest going to hydrocodone treatment. There you can be detoxed from hydrocodone medically and will have little if any discomfort from opiate withdrawal. They will use prescription medication to do this and the entire process will take anywhere from 3 to 5 days. After this I would suggest that you continue on with residential treatment. This should give you enough information to stay clean when you leave hydrocodone treatment.
