Heroin withdrawl
Heroin withdrawl
One thing I can tell you about heroin withdrawl is that you only have to go through it once. That’s right you don’t have to be a mental heavy weight to understand that you do not have to keep abusing yourself with heroin or for that matter alcohol or any other drugs.
If you have had enough of waking up sick every day from heroin withdrawl and trying to figure out your scam to get a bag of dope then maybe its time to quit heroin. That is if you are totally committed to stopping because if you really are serious and want to stay clean you will have to do a whole lot of things you are not going to feel like doing. Trust me I have been there and done that.
The reason I am so adamant about commitment is that I was not really committed to my recovery. Sure I was sick of using but I wanted to do everything the easier softer way and this is not how it works if you want to overcome heroin.
Suffering from Heroin withdrawl
The first thing you may want to commit to is finding a heroin rehab in your vicinity. Then make arrangements to go in for a heroin detox. Like I said this is your first step towards a new way of living without drugs. Now keep in mind you will be detoxed by a staff of professionals who will know exactly how to take care of you so let them do their job. It has been my experience that I suffered very little during heroin withdrawl.

Step 2 is comes right after your heroin detox. This is when you will move to the residential treatment area. There you will learn some very valuable things about how to stay clean after rehab. In residential you will attend lectures, 12 step meetings, group, and individual addiction counseling.
This is all good but you will want to have a plan of action for when you get out so talk with your counselor about this. They may have some ideas for you and at least get a meeting list that you can use to find out what time and where the meetings you plan on attending will be.
I would make a commitment to attend 90 NA meetings in 90 days and get a sponsor. If you do this I can almost guarantee you that your life will change 100% for the better by the time your 90 are up. You may even do like me and commit to another 90. Anyway this stuff all takes action and is necessary for you to stay clean. This is not written in stone you can add to your recovery as you go along.
Good luck
